A Family Session Full of Heart (And Cows!) | Malad, Idaho Family Photographers
Some sessions are extra special—not just because of the people in the photos, but because of the place that holds the memories.
This sweet family session took place in Malad, Idaho—Ben’s hometown—and it was a dream from start to finish. We started out at the family’s cabin. There's something about photographing on land that’s full of family history that makes the session feel even more meaningful. And then, just when we thought it couldn’t get better… we hopped on four-wheelers and made our way up the mountain!
The view was absolutely breathtaking. Wildflowers stretched across the hills, the sun dipped perfectly behind the peaks, and everywhere we turned felt like something out of a storybook. But the best part? This family shares Ben’s love for cows—so of course, we made sure to include them in the photos! We couldn’t stop smiling at how excited the family was to have their cows in the background. (Ben did become the official cow wrangler and had to scare the cows away when they got a little to close for comfort for little sister) It made the whole session feel that much more personal and fun.
All of the photos were taken on her family’s land, which made everything feel so intentional and connected. These weren’t just pictures in a pretty location—these were memories made in a place that already holds so much love and history. The kids giggled through wildflower patches, the parents soaked in the golden light, and we got to capture it all.
And for Ben, it was especially meaningful to return to his favorite mountain range. There’s nothing quite like coming home, and getting to photograph a family who loves the land (and the cows!) as much as he does made this session one we’ll never forget.
This session was a little bit of adventure, a lot of heart, and everything we love about being family photographers.
